Mr. Goodman handles all aspects of business, real estate, land use and environmental matters. He represents a wide variety of clients, including individuals, families, business entities, nonprofit organizations and public agencies.
In the business law area, Mr. Goodman advises entrepreneurs, landowners, families and philanthropists with respect to forming, structuring and operating business entities and nonprofit organizations. He routinely counsels his clients through complex transfers, purchases, sales, dissolutions, mergers and acquisitions.
In his real estate practice, Mr. Goodman handles all aspects of acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing and operations for residential, commercial and agricultural properties. He regularly advises his clients with respect to planning, drafting, negotiating and interpreting purchase sale agreements, loan documents, leases, easements and other covenants and restrictions. Mr. Goodman also has extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in commercial and residential lease negotiations and disputes.
In the land use and environmental realm, Mr. Goodman counsels individuals, private entities and public agencies with respect to land use entitlement and environmental compliance matters. His practice focuses on Planning and Zoning Law, CEQA/NEPA, Coastal Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Subdivision Map Act, affordable housing laws, soil and groundwater contamination and water rights. He advocates for his clients in administrative proceedings before local boards and commissions, and he handles litigation arising from land use and environmental matters.
