After a lengthy and statewide search and interview process, the five-member Board which comprises the Watermaster for the Antelope Valley Groundwater Adjudication has selected Craig Parton of Price, Postel & Parma LLP as its General Counsel.  The Watermaster Board chose Mr. Parton out of list of some of the most prominent water law attorneys in the State of California.  The Antelope Valley Groundwater Adjudication involved over 15 years of litigation and over 4,000 parties, including public water suppliers, landowners, small pumpers and non-pumping property owners, and the federal and state governments.  The case ultimately resulted in an extensive Judgment and Physical Solution involving a groundwater basin that encompasses over 1580 square miles and parts of three counties (Kern, Los Angeles and San Bernardino).  As General Counsel to the Watermaster Board,  Mr. Parton’s duties will include providing legal advice concerning the interpretation and application of the controlling legal documents and representing the Board’s interests before the Los Angeles Superior Court which retains continuing jurisdiction over this landmark case.
